RES-Q® Acuity Tracking Software
Patient Acuity
The RES-Q Patient Attribute module is designed to automate and integrate your patient classification methodology into RES-Q’s workload and needs-based staffing functions. Your existing classification process can be automated within the RES-Q system. Or, RES-Q can develop a customized patient classification methodology specific to your health care delivery system.
The module provides for the assigning of individualized patient acuity attributes (or interventions) to each patient on a shift or daily basis. Patient attributes are attached to each patient or patient bed location. Each attribute is assigned a relative workload value. As these attributes are selected, the patient acuity level for each patient is automatically determined. The resulting patient classifications are then passed to the RES-Q Workload module and become the basis for determining the correct mix of staff and skills in order to provide the required amount of patient care
The Staffing Simulation Screen™ then displays the number of required staff by skill level based on the resulting patient classifications. Available staff is pulled in from the optional employee scheduler, providing your staffing office with a “day-at-a-glance” view of all required versus. available staff by skill and nursing unit.
In additional to automatically determining your patient acuity levels, RES-Q includes a Patient Assignment function that quickly and evenly assigns your available staff to each patient, considering required care hours, nurse competency levels, patient location, and continuity of care. The assignment function lets you immediately see, based on intuitive color codes, if all your staff and patient assignments have been met.
